Worldwide known designer Mugatu (Will Ferrill) has a huge fashion show in 14 days. What does he need? A dim wit model that can be manipulated into jello. Of course “Fabio is too smart”. Enter Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) known for his “blue steel” pucker lemon expression, whose biggest life’s dilemma is perfect bone structure and his cover man competition named Hansel (Owen Wilson). The big question? Can this part “Dumb and Dumber” part “Austin Powers” type dude sustain two hours with an audience and mojo style gags? Oh yeah! It’s hip soundtrack and unexpected cameos from Winona Ryder to even David Bowie will keep you entertained as the underdog of hair gel (“There’s Something About Mary”) moves to new territory with Evian spray on a runway. David Duchovny as a washed up hand model, Jon Voight as his coal mining father and his own real life wife Christine Taylor as a reporter. Real life dad Jerry Stiller as his agent Maury Ballstein steals the scenes whenever he’s on screen. Stiller’s acting, writing and directing skills prove there’s more to life than chiseled abs and stunning features.
