Marion (Julie Delpy) is a Manhattan based Parisian photographer who falls for a paranoid New York Interior Designer named Jack (Adam Goldberg). Now they’ve been dating for 2 years. En route from Venice to Manhattan they stop in Paris to visit her family and friends, and it’s at that time Jack really finds out the past truths about Marion’s behavior. While it feels slightly “Annie Hall,” Delpy is often harsh and unavailable in her delivery while Goldberg is trying to be a Ben Stiller knockoff - nerdy and adorable - instead coming off as annoying and whining. If I were dating either of these people, I’d have broken up with them months ago and saved the plane fare. But it’s Delpy’s real life parents (Albert and Marie Delpy) who steal the show portraying her film parents. They add a tender infectious chemistry to an otherwise bad situation. What's really impressiv is that Delpy wrote, directed and stars in this movie. You go girl, good or bad. Tres chic! Two tiaras
