(reviewed by our guest critic, the Movie Knight)

A Jedi Knight has many high qualities. Honor is among those. A Movie Knight also possesses that and by my honor I swear there will be absolutely ZERO spoilers in this Star Wars: The Last Jedi review. Very simply, General Leia (Carrie Fisher) continues to lead the Resistance against the First Order. Meanwhile, Rey (Daisy Ridley) has found Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). Will he train her to be a Jedi?
This new chapter starts off very fast and fans will quickly be reminded on why they fell in love with the franchise. There was some concern going in learning Rian Johnson had both written the script and directed too. His previous directing effort was Looper and while that did have fans, it was pretty flawed. However, Johnson really delivers the good here and no one should be walking out disappointed.
There is a lot more humor this time around. The Star Wars movies have always had light moments to them, but you and the rest of the theater should experience a jump in laugh out loud moments. There is still plenty of serious scenes too. The First Order is just as much of a threat as the Empire ever was, but it was a pleasant change to the tone of the story.
You may have even heard that this Star Wars is unlike any other one you have experience. This is very true. It doesn’t always go in the direction you expect. A complaint about The Force Awakens is people said the plot was very much like the original. The Last Jedi marches to its own beat and is the best outing so far of the new movies.
Don’t worry about action sequences. There are plenty of them and they are done really well. Not only should they keep you at the edge of your seat, but there is also good tension thrown in too. It is unknown how the next chapter will continue with the loss of Carrie Fisher. There is a sweet tribute to her in the end credits that’s worth seeing.
If there is a complaint it would be the running time which clocks in at over two-and-a-half hours. You feel a bit of that time too. However, the multigenerational fans these movies have are going to have a great time and will already be counting the days to the final Episode IX.
