What was said on radio:  You know a film is in trouble when the studio – in this case, Warner Bros. – opens the movie with a WARNING NOTICE about the audience NOT speaking, printing or expressing any emotion over this film publicly. Until it’s opening date.

The warning might have read that the film itself has no expression or emotion of any kind. Instead, they – King Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) and Vortigern (Jude Law) speak in ridiculous rhyme only at times taking a breath for the occasional civilized conversation.

And then there’s Uther (Eric Bana) with an entirely different set of issues.

The film begs the question ‘was it the director?’ [Guy Richie?] Where is Ridley Scott when we really need him? Oh right….filming Aliens.

Whatever happened to the days of Camelot? When Richard Harris commanded the stage in 1967? One might even settle for Joseph Finnes kind-of-Camelot in 2011. What we get is Guy Ritchie kind-of-Camelot, with a slick MTV and deafening soundtrack and big over-the-top ridiculous scenes with zero story or journey, let alone heart and courage. Why have a plot when you can drown out any semblance of a story with sound?

Oh wait, there’s hope. The kinky snake scene is at least enticing.   The rating is 1 tiara or 4 tiaras if I’m rating worst movie of the year. And on Mother’s Day no less. Oh dear.
