Barely skipping a beat, Horrible Bosses 2 stays true to the original except for one small factor…our trio of silly men haven’t any horrible bosses…

In this, Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day) try their hand at entrepreneurial enterprises. They’re now their own CEOs.  They might even consider selling the patent, manufacturing and distribution of their newly discovered “Shower Buddy” water head that dispenses soap and shampoo in one.  But when Bert Hanson (Christopher Waltz) finagles a deal to destroy them, leaving the trio of hapless idiots bankrupt, they’ve got to figure out a way to get revenge. Of course it helps that Bert has a psycho son named Rex (Chris Pine) which means they might ransom him off in a scheme to win their product back. But first they’ll need advice on criminal acts.  So who better than MF Jones (Jamie Foxx) and their former boss, Dave, turned convict (Kevin Spacey).

The movie rides on the superior position of the audience anticipating the trios failures, yet at the same time offers up some unexpected twists and turns. And of course the necessary dose of laughs.   Bateman remains the cool and calm brains in the operation…sort of the Mo of the Three Stooges, while whiny-high-pitched Day (now a father of triplets) and Sudeikis, are the Larry and Curly of the slapstick doings.  The three are so loveable and adorable we can’t help but enjoy their earnest efforts even if it gets tiring in certain scenes.

Jennifer Aniston returns as the good-sport-sex addict-dentist and former employer of Dale, but one can’t help but wonder this is what her grown career has turned to. We’ll never hear the words “Mister Tom Hooper would like you back on set.”

My biggest question throughout the running time is how does Katie Perry feel about her song “Roar” used in all the antics?
