Mac and Kelly (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) are new parents in a new neighborhood, when a frat house led by Teddy (Zac Efron) moves in next door.  They go from toga parties ,to ping pong parties, and basically any party that curiously only seems to bother this ONE set of neighbors.

Teddy decides to use the oldest idea in the book…that if you’re being too loud just invite the neighbors over and they’ll be part of the noise.  The couple however, believe they’re never too old to still feel young and alive.  And again, it’s ONLY these neighbors. No others.

In the middle of the film it somehow holds its own with original jokes and pranks until like any ‘time to go home’ moment the 5 a.m. party turns into worn out.

That said, one can imagine the writer going into the studio to pitch this story ‘Animal House meets Hangover with a bit of Rogen history from his first hit Knocked Up, but after the initial set up that even includes a baby in a knapsack (think Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover) the film becomes ridiculous.  That said, don’t listen to me because it will undoubtedly score big around graduation time box office with college boys.

Lisa Kudrow plays the funniest role as the lawyer both sides consult to know their rites. She sees every outcome as a newspaper headline so that somehow the nice couple looks bad.

Some originally bad moments, the film should be arrested for disturbing my peace. ♚ ♛ 1/2
