Vin Diesel reunites with the director (Rob Cohen) of the blockbuster “The Fast And the Furious” for this summer’s high octane, action packed thrill ride. Starring as extreme sports athlete Xander “XXX” Cage, notorious for his death defying public stunts, Vin Diesel is recruited by National Security Agent Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson) to become a different kind of undercover agent. Now, the fate of the world lies in the hands of a new kind of hero. And, this ain’t no Spider or Superman. Van Diesel is tattooed, sports-obsessed and antisocial with lots of one-liners, Schwarzenegger style. It’s superhero meets reinventing the spy movie sans the James Bond suit or the Austin Powers charm. And without any of that to help him, it’s just too crass, (although Van Diesel on his own, can hold the screen). Never the less, where is Batman when we need him to take this dude (dud) out?
