We’ve all been there. Heading home during hectic Thanksgiving weekend to reunite with family, wondering if somebody else isn’t having a better day at it then us. Well, they’re not. This story unfolds how each family has secret issues and none of us are the Brady Bunch. In the house of Mercedes Ruehl it’s children and their husbands or young lovers. In another home it’s Julianna Margulies (E.R. fame) who is a lesbian lover to Kyra Sedgwick and so the story goes. This is a celebratory look at the human drama, and inevitable comic hysteria that accompanies all American families. Well done; a film whose personal stories are not secondary to a bunch of blow ’em up effects.
