(100 mins. rated R)
This is a place where women come and go through the glass door, bringing in with them, lives biggest dilemmas: hair wax removals, facials, massages and tanning appointments. Life is good and lacking substance for these rich women. Their lives the total opposite of the four women who service them. Led by Angele (Nathalie Baye), a lonely woman whose life includes little more than a series of one night stands and a dead end job, who has one lucky day when a Prince Charming literally appears from nowhere professing his love for her on a street corner. It’s totally fairy tale with the pursuit of the chase that works, but it’s the back story that doesn’t. Angelie’s pain is clearly never identified and her pain is not something we understand until too deep into the movie. By then, we are already siding with the Prince Charming who turns out to be a bit of a fraud. A small, worthy watch of a French film with subtitles, but the ridiculous ending may disappoint you.
