(Rated R) Can Plastic surgery cure a mental disorder? I’m not talking boob job, I’m talking full blown out sex change. Emmy Winning “Desperate Housewives” star Felicity Huffman takes on the role of a lifetime, as a man, yes a man, about to have the final operation to make him a woman. Coincidentally it’s at exactly the time he/she learns he has a long lost son, Toby (Kevin Zegers). When Huffman finds out that her long lost son needs her/him more than she imagined, she comes to terms with the discovery that she may make a better father/mother, than she ever imagined. Huffman is so convincing throughout the entire movie – maintaining her monotone voice and male stance, that we’re genuinely convinced she’s a man! And she’s far from the stunning perky blonde of her TV show. As Huffman and Zeger’s characters lie and manipulate in order to protect themselves, the unexpected journey of transformation, turns into more than a sex change operation. It becomes a movie about the transformation of heart and soul, no matter what your gender to begin with. Three tiaras.
