Kat (Debra Messing) appears to have it all with beauty and a good job. There’s only one thing missing: A date for her sister’s wedding. You might suggest she brings a guy pal but she can’t. Reason why? Her ex is the best man and she wants him to think she’s since met the man of her dreams. Enter Nick (Dermot Mulroney) an escort who melts the annoying and frigid Kat, turning an otherwise banal movie into something romantic and believable, until we unexpectedly find ourselves rooting for them to be a couple. The movie delivers a strong message for women who love too much but can’t seem to love themselves enough – women who can’t find love until they are ready to truly receive it. While the movie is a mere 90 minutes long, it’s packed with real substance, thanks mainly to the charm and performance of the perfect date: Mulroney.
