Finbar (Peter Dinklage), a dwarf, gets his daily dose of jabs – “Hey Sleepy, where’s Snow White”? Until one day his really stunted existence changes, when he inherits a train depot in rural New Jersey. Hoping to lead a life of solitude, Fin’s instead confronted with a very talkative hot dog vendor who parks his truck outside of Fin’s train station, and a woman (Patricia Clarkson) who is mourning a family death. While fighting to keep to himself, Fin discovers that size does matter when we’re talking the size of one’s heart. And with his opening up, three dysfunctional people (two emotionally, one physically) bond over issues that make Fin’s seem, well – small. Though the storyline gets a dark derailment toward its conclusion, it’s never the less smart and candid with some hilarious moments minus any cheap sympathy. Expect Clarkson to get some added attention following her phenomenal performance in this year’s “Pieces of April” with this.
