Based on a memoir “The Edge Of The Storm” and produced by Academy Award winning producer Gerald R. Molen (Schindler’s List) comes the story of 19 year old John Groberg (Christopher Gorham) a wanna-be missionary. When John gets a preacher calling to the island of Tonga during the time of World War/bombing of Pearl Harbor, he leaves behind his lovely girlfriend Jean (Anne Hathaway). Narrated through a series of love letters to the girl back home, John tells Jean his challenges, humors and life-affirming adventures in a clash of cultures. While the over-dramatic opening and often sappy scenes are a bit exaggerated, the story manages to deliver a charming message that the connection between life and death makes everything meaningful and sometimes one has to lose their life in order to gain it.
