(Rated R, 89 mins.)
All Victor Kelly (Christopher Walken) wants is to be a responsible man, earn an honest living and in so doing, redeem himself for the lifetime trouble he has brought down on his small, fractured family. But Vic’s skills as an auto mechanic are not nearly as marketable as his safe-cracking skills. Although Walken has made a career out of playing the weirdo (Sleeping Hollow, Annie Hall, Pulp Fiction etc.) he is somehow out of character on this one. Down on his luck, straight-forward with a pull at-your-heart-strings-trick of mom in a nursing home and the need for some quick cash. It’s the old one last heist schtick and it follows the typical story of a proud man who can’t seem to do the right thing no matter how hard he tries.
