(rated R, 121 mins. )  And believe me, it seems to take that long.  A story about three thugs, Kurt Russell, Christian Slater, and David Arquette dressed in Elvis glitter and spandex attempting a huge heist in Vegas during International Elvis week. (They’re the Osmonds except they “don’t get along”).  Leading the pack is  Kevin Costner who believes he is an illegitimate child of the King’s and has a major chip on his shoulder.  They love ‘em and leave ‘em with comments like “What’s the best thing about dating a homeless girl?  You can drop her off anywhere”, but meet their match when Russell falls for Courteney Cox the mother of a young wallet-lifting kid, Jesse James  (David Kaye) and thinks he is. The kid steals the flick. Greed drives the movie when everybody wants a piece of the action, yet contradicting why such a bunch of bad asses would so easily involve women in their mission. (This is the bozo version of an earlier Slater movie “True Romance”.  Too bad Gary Oldman’s missing. )  This testosterone driven story gets an adrenaline crutch from a lot of loud music since the director, Demian Lichtenstein has an MTV history. It could have been easily named “Soundtrack”.  Russell has the Elvis moves down but I’m sure the King is rolling in his grave over this one.
