Kevin Spacey plays Gale, a Texas professor who strongly opposes the death penalty. He’s about to be put to death for a heinous rape/murder of an anti-capital punishment leader (Laura Linney). With three days before his green mile or dead man walking-walk, Spacey tells his story to a Pulitzer hungry reporter (Kate Winslet) who realizes she’s signed up for more than she bargained for. He’s innocent. The movie’s got all the pizzazz to be a big hit. Oscar winner Kevin Spacey, Kate Winslet and director Alan “Midnight Express” “Mississippi Burning” Parker but it’s not. It also has a totally stolen premise from the Clint Eastwood drama “True Crime” of a few years back. Advice: See “True Crime” – it was truly a masterpiece. This one, is just – a crime.
