Robert Ford (Casey Affleck) idolized Jesse James (Brad Pitt) since childhood and has since tried to join his gang of Missouri outlaws. Beautifully written and directed by Andrew Dominik with visuals that are silhouetted on a parchment-colored screen depicting the old west, leaving us as hypnotized as the Discovery Channel.  Pitt was born to play Jesse James – he’s scary good – with his able-to-transform demon eyes. Not since “Legends of the Fall” have we seen him portray such a twisted, cavalier and unpredictable character. Sam Rockwell and Sam Shepard round out some of the bank robbers and Mary Louise Parker has a bit role as Pitt’s wife. A slow, long and powerful movie that might be more appreciated in the comfort of your livingroom as a rental.  Four Tiaras
