The negatives for Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 masterpiece have been saved by Robert A. Harris and James C. Katz, the same team behind the acclaimed restoration of Hitchcock’s “Vertigo.”

Photojournalist L.B. “Jeff” Jeffries is wheelchair-bound, with his leg in a cast, during a sweltering New York City summer. From the rear window of his Greenwich Village apartment, Jeff can see into several of his neighbors’ apartments. This vocation is not initially shared by his almost-fiancée Lisa Freemont, but suspicious activity in and around the neighborhood soon brings Jeff and Lisa closer to danger. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring James Stewart, Grace Kelly and Raymond Burr. (It’s like writing a review in a time warp with those names.)
