Swingers “money” buddies Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn re-team as two lifelong friends in Favreau’s directorial debut, the energetic crime comedy Made. Bobby (Favreau) is an aspiring boxer who refuses to abandon his dreams, despite the urgings of his friend Ricky (Vaughn) to pursue a higher position in the old-time mob boss Max (Peter Falk). When Max gives the two friends the opportunity to do a job for him in New York, Ricky takes it as a sign that they’re moving up in the world, and in his own fashion, he makes sure everyone in Manhattan knows it. The two bicker, argue and even wrestle but its Sean “Puffy” Combs who shows an unexpected gift for comic timing. Vincent Pastore (“The Sopranos”) playing a limo driver who knows more than he lets on with Famke Janssen as a coke-addicted girlfriend to Favreau. Vaughn’s annoying motor-mouth skills deliver a hilarious offbeat comedy almost reminiscent of Abbott and Costello in the same casual plot.
