If there were one word to describe Walt Disney’s new film it would be ‘fun’. Lilo (voice of Daveigh Chase) is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly dog that she names Stitch (voice of Chris Sanders). He’d be perfect except he’s not a dog at all but instead a genetic experiment escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Like a light-weight animated E.T., Stitch resembles the mating of a Koala bear and a Gremlin, in this story that teaches love, faith and belief in family. The fun of this movie comes from Stitch being sort of an obnoxious drooling, spitting half-eaten food kind of little creature that is everything Belle and Snow White aren’t. Sort of a gross out teen flick for wee folk.
